Day 1
Nairobi – Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary – Salt Lick Safari Lodge
Depart Nairobi early in the morning and drive southeast toward Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary (approximately 220 km, 4–5 hours).
The drive takes you through open plains and rural landscapes, offering scenic countryside views before reaching the sanctuary.
Upon arrival, check in at Salt Lick Safari Lodge and enjoy lunch overlooking the sanctuary.
After some relaxation, head out for your first afternoon game drive. Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is home to elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, impalas, waterbucks, and occasionally lions and leopards.
The sanctuary’s size allows for close wildlife encounters and shorter tracking distances.
Return to the lodge before sunset. In the evening, enjoy dinner while watching animals gather at the illuminated waterhole below the lodge , one of the most unique safari viewing experiences in Kenya.

Day 2
Full Day Game Drives – Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary
Start the day with an early morning game drive when wildlife activity is at its peak.
Predators are more active during cooler hours, and the lighting is ideal for photography. Return to the lodge for breakfast.
Mid-morning is at leisure. Guests can relax on the lodge terrace, observe wildlife at the waterhole, or visit the underground bunker for close-up animal viewing.
After lunch, depart for an extended afternoon game drive exploring different sections of the sanctuary.
Expect sightings of elephants moving in herds, buffalo groups grazing, giraffes browsing acacia trees, and various antelope species.
Birdwatchers may spot several resident and migratory bird species.
Return to the lodge before sunset for dinner and overnight stay.

After lunch, proceed for another afternoon game drive.
The repeated game drives over multiple days improve wildlife sighting opportunities and allow for more relaxed tracking and photography sessions.
Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and your final overnight stay.
